The ever-popular Giffords Circus is welcoming people back into the big top – although things will be slightly different.
Like many events in Gloucestershire, Giffords Circus had to shut up shop and cancel their 2020 show The Hooley.
However fans could still get their Giffords Circus fix as Pantomime-favourite Tweedy the Clown appeared on The Barn Theatre’s live stream with his popular show Lost & Found which featured many a famous face including Helena Bonham Carter.
And now they have announced that they’re back with their new event: Giffords Circus presents The Feast – a circus and dining experience.
In a post on their website, Giffords Circus’ producer Lil Rice says: “And now for something completely different.
“We wanted to create something totally joyous to lift the spirits. It has been an emotional and challenging year for all of us, so we thought we could all do with a little Giffords Circus magic.
“As a result of current government guidelines, we cannot put on our planned show The Hooley, so we have now postponed it to 2021. Let’s celebrate our twentieth anniversary in style! It will be a feast for all your senses.”
The brand new event The Feast is being dubbed a ‘socially distanced, totally fabulous, all singing, all dancing circus show and dining extravaganza.’
Under the big top, you will be served a three-course feast while acts and performers take to the stage and includes a number of favourites such as Tweedy, Lil Rice and the Giffords Circus band.
The event opens on Friday, August 14 in Stroud and you can find out more information about the event and tickets on their website here.
