Coventry City academy graduate turned Wembley hero Gael Bigirimana has completed a move to Northern Irish side Glentoran.
The 26-year-old made his Sky Blues debut in the Championship under Andy Thorn after climbing the ranks at Ryton-on-Dunsmore before departing to Premier League Newcastle United.
Since then he has had spells with Motherwell, Rangers, Hibernian and Solihull Moors as well as returning to Coventry to help the club to Wembley glory in 2017 as Johnstone’s Paint Trophy winners.
And now he will head to Northern Ireland to play for Glentoran who stand a chance of qualifying for a spot in the Europa League for this upcoming season.
“It’s a great club with a great history,” he told CoventryLive.
“With the COVID situation and lack of football I’m delighted to start getting regular games and I’m looking forward to making a big impact with the team both in Northern Ireland and in Europe.
“My focus is on the next few games because we have Europa League qualifiers coming up.”
Bigirimana could play his first game for Glentoran later this month, in a pre-season friendly with Dundela.
