For months bingo halls around the county have been empty but your evening is about to light up because one of Gloucester’s bingo halls is set to open.
It’ll be eyes down and dabbers at the ready as Mecca Bingo in Eastgate Street, Gloucester, reopens this weekend.
This comes just a week after another bingo hall in Gloucester welcomed players back. Buzz Bingo in the Peel Centre, opposite Gloucester Quays opened last Thursday for the first time since March.
Jonathon Swaine, managing director of retail at Mecca Bingo, said: “We want to reassure the Mecca Bingo community that we are working together to take every precaution necessary to create a safe environment in which to play the nation’s favourite game.
“We’re also investing in new entertainment formats in our clubs, to give everyone even better experiences. We are excited to reopen our doors, welcome back our communities and hear ‘House’ called once again.”
The Gloucester venue will reopen on Saturday, August 15 and is part of Mecca Bingo’s phased reopening which sees a number of measures implemented including social distancing, increased cleaning and a limit on the number of people in the hall at any one time, along with a number of other measures.
Another change the brand have introduced includes ‘Mecca Cares’ sessions which will take place earlier in the day and are created for those who may be feeling a little nervous about returning to ‘normality.’
These sessions will include reduced numbers to help them feel comfortable as well as a free coffee.
