Wolverhampton Wanderers remain intent on targeting Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin in the transfer window, according to reports.
Saint-Maximin has been linked with Wolves after an impressive debut season in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old was a £17m arrival from Nice last summer and has four goals and seven assists to his name in 30 appearances.
Our sister title ChronicleLive named him as Newcastle’s player of the season having ‘captured the imagination of the Geordie public by serving up the type of football fans just love to see.’

According to the Daily Mail, Wolves are ‘focused’ on luring Saint-Maximin to Molineux to boost Nuno Espirito Santo’s options going forward.
The report adds: “The tricky French winger is tipped to leave St James’ Park after an encouraging debut Premier League season and Wolves could take advantage of this uneasiness.”
The former France under-21 international is highly-regarded by his Newcastle team-mates – with Jamaal Lascelles even likening him to Wolves star Adama Traore.
Captain Jamaal Lascelles said earlier this year: “He’s a great player. Physically, you know the guy from Wolves, Traore? Max says he never does gym, he’s never done gym before, but he’s strong as an ox.
“He’s fast, so explosive. You get good dribblers with the ball but normally they might be weak or they might just get knocked off the ball easily. That’s not him – he’s got it all.”
Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with Saint-Maximin, who has five years left to run on his contract in the north east.
