Like many people, I’ve done a bit of decorating during lockdown. I’ve revamped my bedroom a bit, painting one of the walls, adding new furniture and new prints. I know a lot of other people have been doing up their houses too and have made a note of some of the trends I have spotted.
Bright Walls
The first trend that I have noticed is bright walls. This is something that I’ve added to my bedroom. I originally had a dark pink feature wall but decided to change it to a bright forest green. This was such a great decision, it only took me an afternoon to paint and it has really transformed the room.
Wooden flooring
This is a trend that has been around for a while now, but I have noticed that more and more people are going for wooden flooring over carpets. Most new builds now come with wooden floors as standard. Solid wood flooring is such a great investment, especially if you know how to look after it properly.
Houseplants
Another trend that I love is houseplants everywhere. I have so many different ones in my room which I am trying to keep alive as best I can. As well as helping to purify the air, they look great! Succulents are the easiest to look after (although I have killed a few in my time) and there are so many different varieties.
Patterned rugs
I have been seeing more and more patterned rugs on Instagram recently. Rugs are a great way to make a room feel more cosy and homely. Having a good quality rug can really add a finishing touch to the room, especially on wooden flooring. I went for a cream and black one for my room add it looks amazing!
