Fences and marquees have started to appear in Cheltenham’s Montpellier Gardens – so what is going on?
Montpellier Gardens is often packed full of visitors throughout the year as a number of events are held in the park including the likes of the Cheltenham Literature Festival.
However things have been a little different this year with the majority of the events in the county either being cancelled or held online.
So instead, the gardens have been busy with crowds of people basking in the glorious sunshine that we’ve enjoyed recently. But regular visitors to the park and passersby alike will have spotted that things are starting to happen in Montpellier Gardens.
Fences and marquees have started popping up around the park along with benches and tables. And it’s all for Soul Circus.
Soul Circus is a festival which, according to their website, aims to: “Bring together the most sought after yoga instructors and wellness practitioners and combining them with an incredible musical line up for a weekend that is both revitalising and energising in equal measure.”
The event kicks off on Thursday, July 23 and runs until Saturday, September 19 and tickets vary in price from £9.99 right up to £149.99 with some workshops also being free and you can find more information on their website here.
Activities at the festival include yoga workshops, cocktail making classes, comedy nights, family-friendly activities and more.
Given the current circumstances, the festival’s website assures those looking to attend that social distancing measures will be in place. A post on the site reads: “By attendance, we ask you to observe all social distancing rules as per legislative requirements, all cafe tables and class sessions will be set out in accordance with all COVID-19 legislation.
“As we are close to residential property we ask you to be supportive to all guidance we issue as well as being mindful of our neighbours and hosts.”
