A mask-wearing, knife wielding robber threatened a takeaway shop owner in Worcestershire – demanding cash.
The incident took place at Pizza Allegro, in Cranham Drive, Warndon, Worcester at around 10pm on Tuesday (July 14). It took place next door to the Warndon Police Post in the parade.
A man is said to have threatened the owner of the pizza shop with a knife, demanding money before leaving the takeaway and pedalling off on a bike.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen an attempted robbery in Worcester.
“The incident is reported to have happened at Pizza Allegro, on Cranham Drive in Warndon, Worcester at around 10pm on Tuesday (July 14).
“A man entered the takeaway and threatened the owner with a knife, demanding a quantity of cash before leaving the premises on a bicycle.
“The man is described as being white, 5ft 9ins tall, he was wearing a medical face mask, black and red hat.“
DC Abi Thomas of Worcester CID said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident and thankfully, no one was injured. The investigation is on-going and we are appealing for any witnesses as well as to anybody who may have footage of the incident from their CCTV or dashcam.
“If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please call us on 101, quoting incident number 762 of 14 July.”
