McDonald’s fans across Leicestershire will be glad to know that the fast food chain is once again serving its popular breakfast menu from today.
Following a successful pilot, breakfast service is returning to more than 1,000 restaurants across the UK.
This is still a limited menu, for now though – so no bagels, wraps or porridge.
However, it does mean we can enjoy egg and cheese, bacon and egg, sausage and egg, double bacon and egg and double sausage and egg McMuffins, plus bacon roll, hash brown, and cheesy bacon flatbread once more.
There’s also pancakes with syrup and pancakes with bacon.
Talking about the re-introduction of the breakfast menu, a McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We have seen such a brilliant reaction to breakfast in the first 42 restaurants, the return of the McMuffin is proving incredibly popular. We are therefore delighted to confirm that over 1,250 restaurants will add breakfast to the menu.
“Our menu will still be limited, we will unfortunately not be serving bagels, wraps or porridge for now. Our opening hours continue to vary, the quickest way to check your local restaurant will be via the My McDonald’s App, where new users can also get a free coffee upon registration.”
From 11am today, customers will also be able to enjoy more choice on the main menu, as popular items are re-introduced.
Shakes, Mayo Chicken, Bacon Mayo Chicken, Hot Chocolate and the Bacon Double Cheeseburger all rejoin the menu, with Happy Meal Organic Milk bottles also making a return for younger customers.
According to McDonald’s, as it continues to adapt to the social distancing and safety measures in kitchens and service areas, it will constantly review what restaurants are able to sell. It is hoped that further items will be reintroduced later in the summer.
