Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has detailed how the squad want to go one-step further in the FA Cup than they did in the League Cup earlier this season.
Rodgers’ side suffered defeat to Aston Villa over two-legs, missing the opportunity to head to Wembley for the final, but have another chance in the FA Cup.
While the Premier League campaign has been positive this season, Rodgers has made no secret of the club’s desire to succeed in the knockout competitions.
“We’ve put everything into the cup competitions, in the League Cup as well, and in the FA Cup we want to go a step further,” he told BT Sport ahead of the match.
“They were disappointed after the League Cup exit. It’s a team that is very hungry to do well and hopefully, we can do well today.
“With the games all coming close together, without making wholesale changes, it’s just to keep the freshness in the team. Defensively as a team we’ve been very good but offensively we’re trying to shaken things up.
“Chelsea have outstanding players, they had a very good performance in the week. We’ve had two very good performances against them so far in the league so hopefully we can go a step further and win the game today.”
